In The Money

Updated: Aug 3, 2021

The long awaited Dash For Cash was finally held at Yarmouth Stadium on 30th May, a total of 35 Superstox were booked in with 33 attending on the night, a great number of cars for a great track! 24 cars were eligible to take part in the dash for cash having raced during the 2020 season which was when the race was originally planned for. Harry Sturt 54 was the first to drop out, a clash with a marker tyre in heat 1 resulted in him breaking his thumb in four places! Speedy recovery Harry! After winning the 3 heats between them Jordan 515 and Chopper 51 both picked up substantial damage in the final which took a huge effort from their pit crew and others to get them on the grid for the race. In the end 17 cars made the grid and their positions were drawn out trackside by Commentator Nick Knowles, joker numbers had already been allocated to 5 of the grid positions and the lucky drivers to win a joker prize were:-

Chris Bradbury - £200

John Mickel - £150

Luke Simmons - £100

Colin Aylward - £100

Jordan Aylward - Hoosier Tyre

Chaos on the first lap resulted in several cars out with damage and a total restart. The lead was changed several times in a good battle with Martyn Coles 511 taking a well deserved win followed by 167 James Meadows and 886 Chris Bradbury.

The only white top to enter was 89 Josh King who only had to stay out of trouble and finish the race to win the white top award, this he did and his bravery was awarded with £100 and a Hoosier tyre. The top yellow award went to 167 James and the top blue award to his brother Alex 176, so a happy team Meadows!
